V. Evelyn Dalrymple

V. Evelyn (Kohn) Dalrymple, 78, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Midland Hospice House.
Evelyn was born February 24, 1933 in Auburn, the daughter of Harry E. and Fern (Ginter) Patterson. She graduated from Dover High School in 1951.
She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Ex-Bells. She worked as a Secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 30 years, retiring in 1987.
Evelyn married G. Duane Kohn on October 20, 1951. He died April 20, 1973. She later married Eugene Dalrymple on August 28, 1975. He died December 5, 2002. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by daughter, Karen A. Guilbault; and siblings, Margaret Smith, Harry Patterson and Arlene Stroth. Survivors include son, Michael (Karen) Kohn, Baldwin City; grandchildren, Gabriel (Amanda) Kohn, Lawrence, Amara (Shaun) Davis, Baldwin City, Joshua (Kayla) Kohn, Wellsville, Michael Kohn, Lawrence, William Kohn, Baldwin City; 2 great grandchildren; and siblings, Vivian Zimmerman, Dover, Maybelle Conese, Hamilton, OH, Eloise Deiter, Topeka, Faith Borner, Coraopolis, PA, Harold Patterson and Jerry Patterson, both of Maple Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Evelyn will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
