Todd Rion
Todd Hutchinson Rion, 35, Topeka, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 at his home.
He was born April 2, 1968 in Topeka, the son of Paul C. and Nancy S. Wood Rion. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1986 where he served on the student council for a year, and lettered in cross country. He was a lifelong resident of Topeka.
Todd was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and served as a volunteer for the Sebelius gubernatorial campaign and for Habitat For Humanity. He had a love of nature and animals and enjoyed working with children.
Survivors include his parents, Paul C. & Nancy S. Rion, and a sister, Deborah Susan Rion, all of Topeka; grandparents, Elizabeth Rion, Topeka and Robert E. and Helen Rion, Myrtle Beach, SC; uncles, Michael R. Rion, Hartford, CT and John M. Wood, Boynton Beach, FL; a nephew, Adam Nicholas Milner, Topeka.
Cemation is planned. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Inurnment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Topeka Zoo, 635 SW Gage Blvd, 66606 or to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave, 66608.
