Tijuania J. Lara, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Lara was born March 17, 1916 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was an orphan and grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Wheelock Military Academy and Haskall University.
She was married to Lidio F. Lara in 1941. He preceeded her in death in 1997.
She taught school in the Lawrence School District for 15 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Monica Lara of Topeka, and foster dauaghter, Carolyn Howard.
Mrs. Lara was cremated. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. On line condolances may be left at www.penwellgabel.com
