He was born June 18, 1932 in Rapid City, SD, the son of Willard Cecil and Audra Millicent Felton Cox. David was raised in Wichita KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nelda Marie Carr, and an infant brother, Willard Cecil "Buddy" Cox, Jr.
He married Lou Anna Henderson, the love of his life, in 1955. Together they raised six children, Annette Reaves (Jeff) of Longmont, CO; Traci Booth (Rich) of Keene, NH; Thomas D. He continued his world travels to countries such as Iran, Venezuela, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Argentina, to name a few, overseeing numerous heavy construction and infrastructure projects.
