Ted Jurasik, 68, of Topeka, KS and formerly of Evergreen, CO, died on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Ted was born on March 20, 1946 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He attended St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont and graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. He retired from INA Special Risk Insurance Company as an Assistant Vice President of the Engineered Risk Division. Ted moved to Evergreen from Summit, New Jersey in April of 1991; he later moved to Topeka in May of 2013. Ted dedicated the last years of his life as the Director of Restorative Nursing at Life Care Center of Evergreen, specializing in geriatric care.
One of Ted's tremendous enjoyments was his involvement in community theatre, both as an actor and a director.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Houseworth Jones of Topeka, KS; two daughters, Jessica (Joe) Cristiano of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jennifer (Rob Dagna) Person of Glen Cove, NY; step-son, Gavin (Shelley) Jones of Camarilla, CA; one brother, Peter A. (Barbara) Jurasik of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Martha Jurasik of Summerville, SC and Ani (Tom) Kielbasa of Berwick, PA and two granddaughters, Nicole Cristiano and Morgan Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Nan (Sidari) Jurasik.
Ted's wish was to donate his body for research at the University of Kansas Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
