Thelma D. Hancks, 90, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009.
She was born October 8, 1918 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Roy W. and Cecil B. (Lewis) Nelson. She was a graduate of Topeka High School, attended business school and was employed several years as a legal secretary in Topeka and Kansas City.
Thelma married Dorsey W. Hancks on May 30, 1941 in Yuma, AZ. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1991. Survivors include her son, Larry K. Hancks and wife, Annette of Kansas City, KS; her sister, Genevieve Nyman of Topeka; her niece, Liz Owen of Englewood, CO; her nephew, Jim Nyman and wife, Judy of Topeka.
Mrs. Hancks was cremated. Private family inurnment will be at Wamego City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606.
