Terry Hastings-Ray, 63, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022.
She was born October 5, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Larry and Nona (Roderick) Hastings. She graduated from Highland Park High School.
Terry loved her family, they meant the world to her. She cherished her moments and time she got with them and enjoyed taking care of her son Ian.
If she wasn't with her family, you could catch her at one of the local thrift stores. She loved a good deal and was a collector of many things. Terry also enjoyed crafting in her spare time, going to garage sales and the farmer's market with her husband, making wrapped gifts extra special and being a barber.
Terry married Alan Ray on February 14, 1994, he survives. Other survivors include her children, Torrie Aisha Mason and, Ian Ray; grandchildren, Shawn'Yel Thoms, Jai'Veon Kelly, and Maya O'Conner; great-grandchild, Cameron Scott and one great-grandchild on the way in October, Mason Wilhoite; sister, Torrie (Larry) Heptig and brother, Larry (Liz) Hastings, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nona and Larry Hastings, Sr.
Family will greet friends during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. The family asks that you dress casual. In her honor, support your local thrift stores.
