Teresa K. "Terry" Duvall, 60, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, from complication of Diabetes and Leukemia.
Terry was born November 25, 1945 in Warsaw, Missouri, the daughter of Robert M. and Mildred Davis. She was raised in southwest Missouri and graduated from Lebanon High School 1963. She married Bobby Joe Duvall on March 28, 1964 at the First Congregational Church in Lebanon, Missouri He survives at home.
Terry and her family moved to Topeka in 1974. She graduated from Washburn University in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration. She worked for the State of Kansas for 26 years, 25 years of which were at the Kansas Water Office, were she administrated the sale/purchase of all water in reservoirs in the state of Kansas to municipalities and rural water districts. She retired in 2001.
Terry was a long time member of the Topeka Sunflower Lions Club. She was very instrumental in the promoting of Diabetes awareness in her club, district and state.
Terry was preceded in death by her father, Robert M. Davis and Aunt Marjorie Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Joe; a daughter, Teresa Hefner and husband Ronnie, Topeka; a son, Bob Duvall Jr. and wife Tami, Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jaclyn Hefner, Alex Hefner and Nia Duvall. Her mother Mildred Davis, Columbia, Missouri; a brother Rob Davis and wife Theresa, Hallsville, Missouri; a sister, Kathy Sheridan, Columbia, Missouri. Terry is survived by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Topeka. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the church parlor. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
