Sylvesta "Hazel" Henderson, 93, passed away on April 4, 2017.
She was born to Sylvester and Cora Culver on April 10, 1923 in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sylvesta was married to Robert M. Henderson. Together they had four children.
She was a homemaker and was dedicated to the needs of her family.
Sylvesta was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her four children; Larry Henderson, Michael (Clarissa) Henderson, Virginia Hummell, Ronald Henderson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Bernice DeWitt.
A funeral ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will take place at a later date at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Sylvesta will lie in state after 3 pm, Sunday, April 9, 2017, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
