Susan B. "Bonnie" Weir, 91, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at McCrite Plaza.
She was born October 13, 1914 in Lyndon, KS, the daughter of George R. and Mary E. Heavilin Jensen.
She was a 1932 graduate of Topeka High School and attended Strickler's Business School, graduating in 1933. She worked for several area physicians prior to becoming a homemaker and was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She married James P. Weir on July 3, 1937 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Michael Weir in 1981 and a brother, Roy Jensen in 1978.
Survivors include a son, James P. Weir, Jr. and his wife,Lori, two grandsons, Ryan J. and Marc C. Weir, a great grandson, Zachary J. Weir, all of Topeka and two sisters, Marie Creager and Betty Miller, both of Afton, OK.
Mrs. Weir will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, Sept. 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 SW. Fillmore, with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
