Susan Kay Clemons, 59, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, January 4,
2024. She was born on July 20, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas and was the daughter of
Edrie (Crum) and Eudric "Dick" Hubert.
Susan grew up in Lecompton, Kansas and graduated from Perry Lecompton High
School in 1982. She went on to be the first college graduate in her family after
obtaining her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from
Washburn University.
At the young age of 17 years old, Susan was diagnosed with a kidney disease.
Throughout her life she battled the disease with strength only few could find.
Those who knew her, remember her for her smile and contagious laugh. They
admired her for the strength and resilience she showed even during the darkest
parts of her fight. Susan loved her daughter and grandchildren and adored the
time she was able to spend with them. The love and lightheartedness she brought
to their lives will be greatly missed.
She was proceeded in death by her son; Brandon Clemons, brother; Phillip
Hubert, and parents.
Susan leaves behind her daughter; Megan Kibbe, son in-law; Brandon Kibbe,
grandson; Warren Kibbe, granddaughter; Mabel Kibbe, and her sisters; Beverly
Mohlman and Peggy Gilmore.
Visitation with the family receiving friends will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm,
Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions,
Topeka Mid-Town Chapel.
