Summer Ruth Griffith, 37, of Topeka, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014.

She was born January 13, 1977 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of John McGuire and Jennifer (Ray) McGuire. She was raised by her mother an step-father, Chris Howell. She was a graduate of Northern Heights High School and Emporia State University, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in History.

She married John B. Griffith. They were divorced. Survivors include two daughters, Cheyenne Julia Griffith and Abigail Jenna Griffith; her mother, Jennifer and her step-father, Allen Caskey; all of Topeka.

A graveside ceremony will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Blakely Cemetery, North of Madison, KS. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to Summer Griffith's Daughter's Scholarship Fund, sent in care of CoreFirst Bank, 3035 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66611.
