Stuart Douthett, 60, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Midland Hospice House.
Stuart was born January 10, 1956 in Wichita, the son of William and Daisy (Mott) Douthett. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1974 and from Washburn University in 1978.
He owned and operated Douthett & Co. C.P.A. for nearly four decades in Topeka, with branches in Lawrence and Northeast Kansas. His firm recently merged with S.S. & C. Business Solutions.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on the Financial committee and the Board of Trustees, was past-President of the Topeka Country Club board, and was involved for many years with the Family Services & Guidance Center and the Rotary Club and was awarded the Paul Harris award.
Stuart married his college sweetheart, Julie Dultmeier on September 24, 1977 in Topeka. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Krista Douthett; son, Mitch (Lottie) Douthett; parents, Bill and Daisy Douthett, all of Topeka; brother, Roger (Beverly) Douthett, Wichita; sister, Joan Douthett, Florida; and in-laws, Leon (Mary) Dultmeier.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at First United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
