Phyllis Mudge Storrer, 81, Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004, at a local hospital.
She was born October 25, 1922, in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Phillip H. and Alpha Werts Mudge.
She married Edward Storrer, Jr. May 23, 1944, in Gridley. He survives. Other survivors include a brother Harold L. Mudge of Gridley and nieces and nepews.
Mrs. Storrer graduated from Gridley High School in 1940. She attended Business College at Lawrence. She retired in 1985 from the Kansas Department of Transportation after 40 years of service. She was later Secretary to Senator James Francisco for five years and was Administrative Assistant to Lt. Governor Francisco from 1991 to 1995.
Mrs. Storrer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Topeka Chapter No. 462 Order of Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron in 1978.
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Gridley Cemetery in Gridley, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Diabetes Association or to the Grace United Methodist Church.
