Steven Scott TenEyck, 56, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020.
He was born April 4, 1963, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Dale and Janet (Meyer) TenEyck. Steve graduated from Topeka High School and received his License of Practical Nursing at Kaw Valley Technical School. He then went on to graduate from Newman School of Nursing with a degree in Nursing.
He began working at Wendy's while in high school where he made lifelong friends. He then when on to work as a registered nurse at Newman Hospital in Emporia, Memorial Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and Aldersgate Village in Topeka, where he cared very deeply for all the patients he assisted.
Steve enjoyed cooking and took great pride in others enjoying all the wonderful dishes he made. He had a green thumb and was able to bring life back to plants and flowers that anyone else had given up on. He always had the most gorgeous flowers and loved to spend spring and summer tending to them. Steve also collected Coke memorabilia and liked to find new and unusual items. He had an uncanny knack of remembering many things related to trivia, dates and events many others had long forgotten. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother, Brian TenEyck; nephew, Trenton (Brittney) TenEyck, great-niece, Kenna Marie, nephew, Brady (Kathleen) TenEyck great-nephews, Dominick James, Rome Xzavier, Carlos Xzavier Alluin; also including extended family members, Nancy (John) Bermudez, Jheri Bermudez, Jerrad Andrews; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Penwell-Gabel, Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore St, Topeka, KS 66606. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial park Cemetery.
