Steven R. Snead, 63, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. Steven was born September 20, 1948, in Coral Gables, Florida, son of Reid and Eleanor (Moore) Snead. He served in the US Marine Corps, touring twice in Vietnam. Steven married Debra White on April 19, 1987. He was a brick layer for various companies throughout Kansas.
Steven is survived by his wife, Debra Snead; four step children, Brett, Michael, Kerry, and Stacy Pletcher; five step grandchildren; mother, Eleanor Snead; sister, Eleanor Gilbert; and brother, Sam Snead.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reid Snead, and sister, Helen Snead.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Center Drive, Suite LL-15, Topeka, KS 66604.
