Steven Scott Haynes, 51, Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. Steven, the son of Bill and Gerry Haynes was born July 24, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas. He attended schools in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School in 1975. He attended Kansas State University and graduated from Kansas University in 1981 with a B.S. in Cellular Biology and was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Steven and his brother Michael owned and operated the Budget Tapes and Records Stores.
Steven married Roberta (Bobbi) Balthazor in May 1983. He is survived by his wife Bobbi, daughter Emily Grace, brothers, William and Michael, Nephews, Spencer, Sheldon, William and Sam, Niece, Bailey Haynes. Four Special aunts, Judy Auza, Patricia Hummel, Dixie Lynn and Barbara Morgan.
Steven was a sensitive and caring person. He will be missed by all that knew him. Steven loved all animals and cared for them whenever and wherever he found them in need.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Graveside service will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
