Stephen L. Crockett
Stephen Leroy Crockett, age 90, passed away September 27, 2002 at a local care facility. He was born August 17, 1912 in Richland, KS the son of Robert Marshall and Cora Lee Beam Crockett. He attended Richland schools and graduated from Overbrook High School.
Mr. Crockett worked for the Railway Post Office as a foreman on the mailcar on the railroad retiring after 31 years of service. He then work for the State of Kansas as Chief Reimbursement Officer at the State Hospital until he retired in 1985. He was a World War II Vetaran.
Mr. Crockett was a member of Saint David's Espiscopal Church, Life member of
Brown Leonard Woodward American Legion Post 391 in Richland Ks, Phillip Billard VFW Post 1650, Military Order of Cooties, Faternal Order of Eagles, Localle Voiture 1148 of the 40/8 in Topeka, he was a National Officer in Cheminot National in 1987.
Past master of Siloam Lodge #225 AF&AM Masonic Lodge, also belonged to Scottish and York Rite, Arab Shrine of Topeka.
He was married Lois G. Benander November 9, 1932 in Topeka living most of their life in Richland, moving to Topeka in 1971, she survives and lives in Topeka.
Preceded in death by a son: David Crockett, Daughter: Mary Francis Crockett German, Brother: Beam Crockett.

24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel on Tuesday, October 1, 2002. Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 11:00am, also in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation is planned.
