Stanford A. Sorsveen, 73, of Berryton, joined his wife, Twila for Christmas on Sunday, December 11, 2005.
Stan was born May 3, 1932 in Brainerd, MN to Adolph and Edythe Sorsveen. His United States Air Force career brought him to Kansas where he and Twila chose to raise their family.
His joys of life were his family, fishing, flying, and NASCAR.
Survivors include: four daughters, Evelyn Sturgis, husband Glenn, Joyce Hesse, husband Albert, Denise King, husband Jerry, all of Topeka, and Janet Kristinat, husband Jim, Berryton, KS; four siblings: Harlan Sorsveen, Brainerd, MN, Charles "Toby" Sorsveen, Maple Grove, MN, Regina Ricapito, La Vista, NE, and Kathy Janowiak, Cedar, MN; 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and four infant children.
A funeral service for Stan will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, Topeka, KS. He will lie in state at 12 Noon, Thursday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m.. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berryton, KS.
