Sophie E. Miller, 99, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Sophie E. Miller was born November 1, 1910 at Netawaka, Kansas, the daughter of Mr. Henry C. and Marie (Stuenkel) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka. Sophie attended a country grade school and graduated from Netawaka High School. After high school, Sophie spent a number of years caring for a sister who had a heart ailment, and then her aging parents. She retired from Kansas State Revenue Department in 1975. In Topeka, she was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Her parents, sister, brother, sister in law, and niece preceded her in death. She is survived by a nephew Larry Miller, Ft. Collins, Colorado; and numerous first and second cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Topeka. Burial will follow at Netawaka Cemetery, Netawaka. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
