Soon Payne

Soon Yo Payne, 79, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, November 25, 2002 at a Topeka retirement center.

She was born January 30, 1923 in Seoul, Korea the daughter of Si Young Im and Sung Yo Shin. She had resided in Topeka since 1973.

She married Arthur Lee Payne April 27, 1973. He survives. Other survivors include:
one son, Sung Hur Topeka, KS
two daughters, Soo Oh Denver,CO
Soo Young Hibino San Antonio, TX
one step daughter, Sylvia Mae Payne Indianapolis, IN
one step son, Stephen C. Payne Oneida, KS
7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2002 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Payne will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
