Age 68, of Topeka, passed away January 31, 2003 at a Topeka care facility. She was born November 1, 1934 in Luray, KS the daughter of Lester and Waive Glasgow McKanna. She graduated from Luray High School in 1952. She moved to Topeka, KS in 1978 and remained there for the rest of her life. She was a tax examiner for the State of Kansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and Sunday school Class.
She married Lyle D. Cherry in 1954 in Luray, KS, he survives:
Survivors include: Two Sons: David Cherry Elk Grove, CA
Steve Cherry Baldwin City, KS
One Daughter: Janet Kuntzsch Topeka, KS
7 Grandchildren, 1 Great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church 3033 SW MacVicar, Topeka, KS at 10:00 AM Tuesday Feburary 4, 2003. Graveside services will be held at 4:00PM Tuesday February 4, 2003 at Luray, Cemetery Luray, KS. A memorial fund has been established in her name and may be left at the funeral home or at the church service. She will lie in state from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Monday, February 3, 2003 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel 1321 SW 10th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
