Shirley Nell LaVogne Ronnau, 89, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born March 2, 1934, in Olathe, Kansas, the daughter of Cecil and Mildred (Musselman) Donham. She graduated from North High School in Denver, Colorado in 1952.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family. When she wasn't with her family, you could often find her quilting and sewing. Over the years she had sewn several quilts for her family to treasure. She belonged to the Country Quilters.
She was a hard worker. She worked at various places during her life, including First National Bank to Bank Four, Ottawa Steel, Lawrence Paper Company, Montgomery Ward, State of Kansas for KPERS and the Research Department, finally then to Palmer News.
Shirley married Philip Ronnau, he preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Dennis) Eisenbarth; grandchildren, Mark (Julie) Eisenbarth and Brent (Heather) Eisenbarth; great-grandchildren, Aydin Eisenbarth, Rylan Eisenbarth, and Beckham Eisenbarth, and her sister, Elaine Abraham. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip, and her siblings Dennis Donham and Marilyn Moser and her daughter, Carla Layne.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. The family will also greet guests thirty minutes prior to the service.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Penwell-Gabel. Cremation will follow the services and private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka.
