Shirley A. (Hamilton) Ritchie, 93, Topeka, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022.

She was born July 22, 1928, in Cuba, MO, the daughter of Corbett and Anna (Gorsage) Hamilton.

Shirley was married to Charles Claude Ritchie on June 18, 1949. Together they enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage. They were parents of two children, Leanna and David.

Claude preceded her in death on August 3, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Leanna (Ritchie) Raine in 2009 as well as her parents and brothers Jack and Quinton.

Shirley is survived by her son, David Ritchie (Peggy) of Valparaiso, IN and grandson Kyle Dean Raine of Topeka.

Shirley was a homemaker, known for her famous cooking skills and happy upbeat personality. She was an avid reader and a longtime member of Countryside United Methodist Church. Shirley had two very special friends, Lois Kelly of 61 years and Sarah Greiner of 44 years.

Shirley spent the last years of her life at Lexington Park Independent Living facility, where she enjoyed the staff and amenities. On behalf of Shirley, the family would like to thank Midland Hospice for their ongoing care the last several years of her life. They brought comfort, joy as well as peace of mind to her and her family.

Service for her will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS.
