Shirley L. Mitchell, 88, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021.
She was born June 15, 1932, in Two Buttes, Colorado, the daughter of Loren and Mabel (Kemp) Gipson.
She was a simple person, smart and most of all, a spit fire. She was addicted to doing crossword puzzles, playing trivia and enjoyed her cat companion. She was a wonderful person who enjoyed family get-togethers and road trips with her family. She lived many years in Hurley, Missouri.
She was a longtime postal employee.
Survivors include her children, Katie (Terry) Hunt, Butch Mitchell, and Susie (David) Rantz; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.
A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Short Cemetery near Hurley, Missouri.
