Shirley Kay Miller, 71, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born July 26, 1936, in Carthage, MO, the daughter of Charles Robert "Bob" and Emma Lee Kingsbury.
Shirley's employment in Topeka included working at the VA Hospital; Luby's; The Meat and Cheese Shop and she retired from the deli of J.M. Bauersfelds.
Shirley was married to Ervin L. Miller. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles "Chuck" O'Dell on August 8, 2004.
Shirley enjoyed nature, embroidering, crocheting, and knitting and was an avid reader. She treasured her many friends and family.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Funk and Melanie (Ken)Campbell; a brother, Phillip (Jean) Kingsbury; 8 grandchildren: Shannon Dugger; Amanda Funk; Chesalai (Jerry) Raby; Delaney O'Dell; Dana O'Dell; Kristin Bradford; Aaron (Kristen) Bradford; Caitlin Campbell and 5 great grandchildren.
While Shirley will be truly missed by all who knew her, we know that she is now free at last from her prolonged illness.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2008 at Luther Place II.
The family suggests memorial contributions in her name to Midland Hospice House or Topeka Shawnee County Public Library.
