Shirley Ann Smith, 74, of Topeka, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her home.
Shirley was born on September 6, 1940 in Hutchinson, KS the daughter of Chauncey and Mary (Craig) Dowd.
She was married to Dewey E. Smith, Sr. on September 11, 1956 in Marysville, KS; he preceded her in death on November 7, 2002.
Survivors include her three children, Velma (David) Konieczny, Dewey (Teresa) Smith, Jr. and Ruth Ann Smith, all of Topeka; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her three sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Chester Smith, two brothers and two sisters.
Shirley's wish was to be cremated and entombment of her remains will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
