Shirley Ann Fooshee, 70, of Topeka, formerly of Garnett, KS, passed away, Sunday, December 28, 2003 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Oct. 1, 1933 at Ft. Scott, KS the daughter of Marshall and Leslie (Gray) Copeland.
Mrs. Fooshee was a graduate of Garnett High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Ottawa University. She sang in the Concert Choir while at Ottawa University.
Her first priority was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
.She also worked as a church secretary at Garnett United Methodist Church and as a secretary at Forever Friends Child Care Center at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
Shirley was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Garnett. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Topeka, where she participated in both the Wesley Weds Sunday School Class, and the Sanctuary Choir .
She married Dale L. Fooshee, June 8, 1956 in Garnett, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include:

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at First United Methodist Church, Topeka. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Garnett City Cemetery, Garnett, KS. She will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Topeka. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to a memorial fund to be used in support of choral music c/o First United Methodist Church, 600 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas 66603. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
