Shirley Ann "Grammy" Arnold, 73, of Ozawkie, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
She was born November 12, 1937 in Topeka, the daughter of Herman and Lilly (Kuebler) Meyer. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School.
She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 30 years.
She was a member of Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, Bunco and spending time with her grandchildren.
Shirley married Kenneth J. Arnold on September 1, 1955 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Randy (Shelle) Arnold, Lawrence and Doug Arnold, Valley Falls; two grandchildren, Adam (Erica) Arnold, Eudora and Amy (Marc) Hedstrom, Topeka; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Hayden and a niece, Cheri Lynn Armstrong, Schertz, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Meyer.
Funeral ceremonies will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls, KS. Mrs. Arnold will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
