Shirleen F. Northcraft-Staebell

Shirleen Northcraft-Staebell, 86, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Aldersgate Village. She was born September 2, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Clarence G. and Ernestina Henschel Summerfelt. Shirleen married Raymond Petterson in 1944. He preceded her in death. Shirleen later married Avery Staebell. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2011.

Shirleen loved her family, traveling, and her dog, Dolly. She loved gardening, especially cultivating roses. She also enjoyed sewing and dancing. Shirleen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. Survivors include children, Gail Horsley, Diane (Rion) Goyette, and Mark (Joy) Petterson; step-son, Kim A. Staebell; sister, Jacqueline (Dan) Ragan; brother, Dr. Robert (Deanne) Summerfelt; and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604.
