Sherry A. VanDonge (Kearney), 81, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023.
She was born on June 5, 1942 in Topeka. She was the daughter of Everett and Margaret Kearney. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1961. She worked for Butter Krust Bakery for 14 years and also the Shawnee County Health Department for 16 years.
She married Thayne E. VanDonge on August 6, 1977. He preceded her in death in June 1993. Also preceded in death is her brother, William L. Kearney and her parents, Everett and Margaret Kearney. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1 and the Eagles 4319.
Survivors include her step son, Richard (Laura) VanDonge; nephew, Shan Kearney; great niece, Taylor (Victor) Harper; great great- niece, Elizabeth Harper and great great-nephew, Victor T.C. Harper.
A graveside service for Sherry will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Topeka Cemetery, 1601 SE 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or Helping Hands Humane Society.
