Sherry L. Heyde, age 57, of Topeka, Kansas, died Monday afternoon, May 13, 2002 at a Topeka area hospital. She was born in Maryvillle, Missouri on July 31, 1944 to Goeffery A. and Helen Mae Heyser Heyde. She has lived in the Topeka area for 38 years.
She began work at Menninger's Outreach Clinic. She worked at Menninger's as a Psychiatric Social Worker from 1984 until 1991, at which time she entered into private practice. She earned her BS from Washburn University and earned her MSW from the University of Kansas in 1984. She was a member of NASW and AAUW. She was a member of Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum and Countryside Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Gary Heyde of Burns,Tennessee; one niece, Natalie Helm of Chicago, Illinois; and one nephew, Jeremy Heyde of Los Angeles, California.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd. Topeka, Kansas. Ms. Heyde was cremated.
