Shelby Diane Cox-Scott

Shelby Diane Cox-Scott, 30, of Topeka passed away June 8, 2004 after her hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Fort Campbell, KY on August 30, 1973 the daughter of Walter P. and Iva Lou Cox.

Shelby graduated from Washburn Rural High in 1992 and then attended Washburn University. She was previously employed with Southwestern Bell.

Mrs. Cox-Scott was preceded in death by her father Walter P. Cox, Jr., he passed away May 5, 1997.

On July 3, 1999 in Topeka she married John F. Scott IV; he survives and lives at the home. Shelby leaves behind her four year old son John F. "Jack" Scott V. Other survivors include her mother Iva Lou Cox; her two brothers, Tony Cox and Daniel Cox and her two sisters Kelly Drummond and Dotty Karnowski all of Topeka.

Shelby will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town on Friday June 11, 2004 beginning at noon, the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. The service will be Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Street, Topeka, KS 66604. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to The John F. "Jack" Scott, V - Educational Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
