Sharon Lee (Stone) Robinson unexpectedly passed away on June 7, 2023 in Topeka, Kansas.
Sharon was born in Topeka on October 13, 1944 to John and Florence (Jeanneret) Stone.
Sharon is survived by her husband Gary, son Kevin, daughter Renae Borden, grandsons Joshua and Jeremy Borden, and sister Charlotte Webb. Sisters Betty Allen, Eileen Bonjour, and Sandra Phinney preceded her.
Sharon graduated from Shawnee Heights High School and Clark's School of Business in Topeka. Soon, she was employed by the Kansas State Personnel Department.
A short time later, she met Gary on a blind luncheon date at Collin's drive-in. They were married on April 23, 1965 in the Central Church of Christ, Topeka. Their honeymoon was in western Colorado, which included a drive in a Buick convertible over Owl Creek Pass.
Later, Sharon stayed home to raise their children. Fourteen years later, she returned to work for Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed her job and her co-workers.
Sharon enjoyed many road trips to nearby states, but didn't really enjoy the time Gary and her drove through a sandstorm in Monument Valley, Utah.
Sharon would cross-stitch in the evenings. After retiring, she made jewelry and cards. She taught a card-making class at Aldersgate Village and enjoyed attending monthly card-making classes.
She really enjoyed visits from her grandsons, Joshua and Jeremy and they will tell you that she made the very best chocolate sheet cake.
Sharon lived with back pain for about 65 years, but never complained. She was a selfless care-giver with seemingly limitless energy. She had a beautiful smile and was quick to laugh. These things and countless others are why she will be so greatly and dearly missed.
Her visitation was held at Penwell-Gabel Midtown from 5-7pm on June 12, 2023 and her graveside service was held at Mt. Hope Cemetery at 10am on June 13, 2023. Donations may be made in her honor to the Capper Foundation at capper.org.
