Sharon Putney – Christensen, 70, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 after a short illness.
Sharon was born on September 28, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN; daughter of Carl and Lola (Goodrich) Fritz. She worked at Cotton O'Neil as a LPN until her retirement.
Sharon was a member of Ladies of the Moose Lodge # 555 and Order of the Eastern Star Helena Chapter #210.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Wayne Christensen, eight children, Dale (Kristin) Putney, Jr., Barbara Putney, Brian Gaden, Charlene (Doug) Schaffer, Bill (Trucia) Putney, Brenda (Harlan) Habben, Terry (Kristen) Christensen, Kevin Christensen, sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, JoAnne (Dale) Yates, and beloved pet Mitzie.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale A. Putney, Sr.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Inurnment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
