Sharon K. McCroskey, 63, Topeka, passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2005 at her home. She was born April 8, 1942 in Hays, Kansas the daughter of Oswald Edwin and Ruth Lillian Bailey Schneider.
She graduated from LaCrosse High School. Sharon was a Fort Hays State Graduate. Graduating May of 1965 with a B.A. degree in English. Sharon worked at the Topeka State Hospital until she retired.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church at LaCrosse, KS.
She married Billy E. McCroskey on June 5, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.
Other survivors include her father Oswald Schneider, Great Bend, KS; a brother, Marvin K. Schneider, LaCrosse, KS; a sister Rita A. Schaffer, Topeka, KS; four step-children, Larry McCroskey, Richard McCroskey, Sheila Keebler, Ronda Cordoba and seven step-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Ruth L. Schneider, and a brother Dwight L. Schneider.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sharon will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
