Sharon L. (Crawford) Smith, 68, passed away peacefully Friday, June 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born October 17, 1947, in Astoria, OR, to Ray and Norma Lee (Hinkle) Crawford. She moved to Topeka in 1951. Sharon and Mickey married on October 15, 1965. They raised two sons. She was a bar manager at the VFW Post #1650 from 1974 to 1985. Sharon retired after 24 years from the Kansas Turnpike Authority. She loved working with plants and flowers, going to the casino, and playing bingo and singing with her mother. Sharon was fun, loving, and generous. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Michael "Mickey" Smith; one son, Nathan Smith and wife, LORI ALEXANDRA SMITH; five grandchildren, Dalton and Alexis Smith, Trenton and Mya Smith (Leslie Rangel, mother), and Austin Smith-Smythe; one brother, Raymond D. Crawford; best friend and sister, Loretta Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy M. Smith; one brother, David Dion Crawford; and parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 201 NE Chandler, Topeka, KS. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Lyndon, KS.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
