Saundra L. Whitehead, 86, of Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
She was born September 20, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Phillip and Virlena L. (Squires) Parks. Saundra graduated from Shawnee Heights High school. After graduating, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from the Kansas University. She was a lifelong learner and continued her education at Washburn University.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with family, and traveling with her husband, Bill.
Saundra married William A. Whitehead on March 21, 1988 in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Valerie Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Phyllis B. Parks, John Parks, Edward Parks, Carolyn Waters, and David Parks.
Cremation is planned and a burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
