Sarah Mae Custer, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at a local care center.
She was born on June 8, 1933 in Topeka, the daughter of Trumie and Goldie (Stratton) Marn. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1951.
She was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. She was a Life member of the Philip Billard Post #1650 Auxiliary and Capital Post #1 American Legion Auxiliary.
Sarah married Duane D. Fuller in 1954. They later divorced. Sarah married Duane Perry Custer on October 18, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives. Other survivors include son; Dennis Fuller, Eskridge; daughter, Debra Johnson, Topeka; three step-children; Duane Custer, Salina, David Custer, Cambridge, NE, Sherri Douglas, Topeka; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Sarah will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
