Samuel S. "Sam" Israel, 86, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Midland Hospice House.
Sam was born October 30, 1928, in Chillicothe, MO, Samuel Clyde and Mildred Idamae (Carr) Israel. After high school, he served in the Navy and Army. Sam worked for the Carpenter's Union Local #1448 until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his two children, Linda and George Wheeler; brother, Dale Israel; and sister, Helen Davis.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and two brothers, Donald and Robert Israel.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
