Sally A. Northrop, 84, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018.
She was born January 19, 1934, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Everett and Helen (Anderson) Ackerson.
She received a Master's Degree in Special Education at Kansas State University.
Sally taught special education at Southard School on the Menninger Foundation Campus until her retirement.
She was a member of the Lowman United Methodist Church. She was an active member of Zonta and enjoyed volunteering at TPAC. She loved cats, dessert breakfasts, TCT and activities with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include daughters, Melissa (Jim) Holloman, Leslie (John Malloy) Northrop; son, Kurt Northrop; grandchildren, Meike Holloman, Matthew (Zui) Holloman, Amanda Northrop, Brice Malloy; great-grandchildren, Avery Malloy, Caeden Meredith, Kiernan Meredith, Kennedy Meredith, Everleigh Holloman and several cousins. She is also survived by her beloved cat Sugar.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m.,December 19, 2018, at Lowman United Methodist Church 4101 SW 15th St. Topeka, KS. Interment at Swede Center Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lowman United Methodist or Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st. Topeka, KS 66604.
