Ruth Price, 98, Topeka, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
Ruth was born in House, NM on August 5, 1909, the daughter of William G. and Emma Jane (Delhotel) Carpenter.
She graduated from House High School and attended New Mexico Normal University, Las Vegas, NM.
"Miss Ruthie" taught in a one room schoolhouse in New Mexico for one year prior to her marriage to Rex Price on August 23, 1928, in Mangum, OK. They were married for 63 years.
Ruth was a faithful member of the church of Christ for 83 years.
She is survived by one son, Ray and his wife, Mildred Price of El Reno, OK; two daughters, Jean Duncan of Topeka and Sharla Villalobos of Trenton, TX; one brother, William Carpenter of Clovis, NM; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Barney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 24th at Central Church of Christ, Huntoon and College. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery in K.C., MO. Ruth will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Sunday, where family will greet friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Heart of America Hospice or Tallgrass Christian Camp, P.O. Box 482, Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
