Ruth Marie Fromme, 87, of Topeka, passed away, Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Brewster Place Medical Center.
She was born November 10, 1917 in Overbrook, Kansas the daughter of Joel Andrew and Eva Platt Kesler. Ruth Marie was raised in Overbrook, Kansas. She and was a graduate of Park College and Washburn University.
She married Alexander Morgan Fromme September 16, 1939 in Overbrook, KS. They resided in Hoxie, KS where they were a vital part of the community. In 1966 she moved with her husband and family to Topeka.
Ruth Marie was a member of Hoxie United Methodist Church, Crestview United Methodist Church, Chapter HG of the PEO Sisterhood and Delta Gamma Sorority.
She gave many hours of volunteer service to St. Francis Hospital, the Kansas Judicial Center and United Methodist Women. She had served as a Sunday School teacher in all of her church communities.
Ruth Marie was preceded in death by her husband Kansas Supreme Court Justice Alex M. Fromme October 25, 1982. Survivors include three sons and their wives, David and Mary Loraine Fromme, Springfield, MO; Robert and Eva Fromme, San Antonio, TX; Phil and Kathy Fromme, Burlington, KS; three daughters and their hsubands, Janice and Ed Brown, Garden City, KS; Mary Lou and Rick Anderson, Lansing, KS; Debbie and Gary Basom, Topeka; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Crestview United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will be in the Hoxie Cemetery at a later date.
