Ruth Guerrero, 80, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
She was born December 14, 1930 in Topeka, the daughter of Esteban and Felipa.
Ruth attended Topeka High School and later received her LPN license. She had also helped teach Spanish to Mrs. Edward's 2nd grade class at Shawnee Heights Elementary in 2002.
Ruth was employed by St. Francis Hospital and later was employed by Central Park Day Care Center. She was active in the Silver Sneakers Program at the Topeka YMCA.
She married Ramon Guerrero on April 25, 1949 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include children, Jeff (Patty) Guerrero, Raphael (Karla) Guerrero, Rene (Mari) Guerrero, Jay Reuben Guerrero and Rayleen (Ivan) Perez, all of Topeka; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Elizabeth Hernandez, Esther Guerrero and Joe Guerrero.
Private graveside services will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
