Ruth E. Wilch
Ruth E. Wilch, 83, Topeka, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at her home.
She was born March 6, 1925 in Meriden, the daughter of Merle and Estella Reed Kious. She spent her childhood years in Meriden and graduated from Topeka High School in 1942. Following high school, Ruth worked for a while at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She worked for ten years in the Kansas State Treasurer's Office in the 1960's.
Ruth was an active member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church. She hosted Stonecraft Bible Studies for 20 years in her home.
She married Merton H. Wilch on Nov. 24, 1944. They lived 47 years in Tecumseh, and the last two years at Aldersgate Village. He survives.
Other survivors include three children, Theodore Wilch and wife, Rose Marie, of Independence, MO, Robert Wilch and wife, Debbie, of Indianapolis, IN, and Constance Evans and husband, Bill, of Topeka; three grandchildren, Aaron Wilch, Rachel Jones, and Kristi Dennis.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Kious, who died at age 18.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village.
