Ruth E. Jones, 102, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at a Topeka care facility. She was born December 7, 1909 in Eskridge, the daughter of George and Jenny Fulton Johnston. She graduated from Eskridge High School. She had resided in Topeka since 1943.
Ruth was employed as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Lucien R. Pyle for many years. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, Beulah Chapter No. 34 O.E.S. and the Kansas Medical Assistants.
Ruth married William L. Jones on September 26, 1933. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Marcia K. (Billy) Chambers of Topeka, three grandchildren, Randy (Tammie) Levin, Tim Levin, Kim Gilmore, six great-grandchildren and her companion, Walter Norris.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Osage City Cemetery. Ruth will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
