Ruth Wyvonne Rathke Cott, 76, of Topeka, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at a Topeka Hospital.
She was born August 8, 1928 in Wamego, Kansas, the daugher of David and Lucille Bartee Homewood.
She was employed by the Kansas Turnpike Authority for over 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a longtime resident of Emporia and had worked for OTASCO tire.
She was married to Frank Cott in 1968. He preceeded her in death in 1991. A son, Kevin Cott also preceeded her in death in November 2004. Survivors include a son, David Bowman, Topeka and a daughter Renita Rathke, Topeka; three step-children, Frank Cott Jr, Carolyn Jo Crump and Sandy Smith, all of Topeka and 8 grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Homewood, Humboldt, KS. She was preceeded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, December 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with burial to follow at Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Cott will lie in state after noon on Thursday.
