Ruth Ann Railsback

Ruth Ann Railsback, 75, White City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Topeka, KS. She was born on October 27, 1935 in Wichita, Kansas to Herb and Lee (Winter) Gress.

Ruth Ann graduated from Kansas State University in 1957. While raising six children, she later worked with the mentally handicap in both Nebraska and Vermont. She was a member of White City United Methodist Church, P.E.O. and for the past 10 years she volunteered for CASA of Morris County, where she was recently awarded Outstanding Kansas Victim Advocate.

Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years Jack; their six children, Brad Railsback of Eudora, KS; Tom Railsback and his wife Natalie of San Clemente, CA; Dan Railsback of Wymore, NE; Mark Railsback of Humboldt, NE; Jim Railsback and his wife Vicki of Tucson, AZ and Ann Railsback of Atlanta, GA; her sister, Georgi Dawson of Medicine Lodge, KS; two daughters-in-law, Donna Railsback of Dawson, NE and Lori Railsback of Omaha, NE and six grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at White City United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CASA of Morris County, 801 N. Washington, Suite B, Junction City, KS 66141 or Youthville in Dodge City, PO Box 1394 Dodge City, KS 67801. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town is assisting with arrangements.
