Russell N. Ewbank, 69, Topeka, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at a local hospital.
Russ was born February 14, 1942 in Garnett, the son of Oliver and Leone (Barner) Ewbank. He graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University with a degree in Mathmatics.
He was employed as a Research Programmer-Statistician with the Menninger Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Topeka Stamp Club, and a former member of the Topeka Jaycees.
Russ married Stephanie Cochran on November 9, 1989 in Topeka. She died November 27, 2002.
Survivors include step-son Garrett T. Cochran, Topeka, KS; sisters, Margery Hunt, Garnett, KS, Mary Seward, Bellingham, WA; brother, Jim Ewbank and wife, Norma, Atchison, KS; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Lura Lee Parks, Hoquaim, WA; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings; Bruce Ewbank, John Ewbank, Lorna Carol Ewbank and Lorene Roeckers.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
