Ruby L. McWilliams, 90, Dardenne Prairie, MO, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Fri., Aug. 1, 2008 at her residence. She was born May 3, 1918 in Junction City, KS to John W. and Christena (Spreacher) Baughman.
On June 8, 1937 she married John H. McWilliams in Junction City. She was a member of the Oakland Christian Church in Topeka. Mrs. McWilliams was a Girl Scout leader for many years and her hobbies were quilting and dolls.
Survivors include; two daughters, Carol Jean Stamm and Mary Christena Ellis; one son, John Robert McWilliams; four grandchildren, Sabrina Lee Massey, Perry Dale Stamm, Billy Ray Woods II, and Nathaniel Hamilton Carter; six great grandchildren, Brandy Renee Woods, Clinton Lee Medovich, Billy Ray Woods III, Nicholas Eugene Woods, April Jean Stamm, Robert Stephen Stamm, and Isaiah Thaddeus Woods; and four great, great grandchildren, Brittany Renee Fisher, Joshua Michael Fisher, Elijah Glenn Woods, and Nicholas Eugene Woods Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994 and her daughter Marjorie Woods in 1996.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sun., Aug. 10 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will be at Penwell-GabelCemetery on Mon., Aug. 11 at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. McWilliams will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 9 with visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
